Who should attend?
This conference is designed for pediatricians, family practice physicians, nurse practitioners, nurses and interested allied health practitioners who provide care for infants, children and adolescents.
Course Overview and Objectives
Popular Pediatric Clinical Topics 2008 will focus on current management strategies for a variety of clinical issues in the subspecialty areas of adolescent medicine, dermatology, endocrinology, ENT, GI/nutrition, neurology and pulmonary medicine. These selected areas have been identified by past conference participants as of particular importance to daily pediatric practice and to patient care.
A key objective is to provide participants with the opportunity to discuss practice dilemmas with the expert faculty.
At the conclusion of this activity, participants should be able to:

Discuss current diagnosis and treatment strategies for various pediatric diseases and disorders including chronic cough, stridor, ankyloglossia, seizures, allergic contact dermatitis, celiac disease, insulin resistance, and neonatal skin disorders.

Summarize return to play guidelines after head trauma.

Differentiate tics from Tourettes syndrome in children.

Recognize pediatric dermatology emergencies, GI manifestations of food allergies, medical complications of eating disorders, and indications for use of growth hormone.

Apply enhanced knowledge in communication with adolescents and in pediatric nutrition support.

Describe current trends in the management of pediatric sleep apnea, bronchiolitis, type 1 diabetes mellitus, asthma, and STDs in adolescents.

This rate is valid for single or double occupancy. European Plan (no meals included) and is subject to the prevailing Hawaii State General Excise and Room Occupancy taxes, currently at 11.4166% (subject to change). If the room type you select is not available, your reservation will be confirmed in the next higher rated category. Bedding requests are subject to availability and will not be confirmed until your arrival.
All reservation requests must be received by September 17, 2008 accompanied by a two (2) night deposit, plus tax (11.4166%). Reservations received after this date will be subject to space availability and published rates. Deposits will be refunded if cancellation notice is received fourteen (14) days prior to arrival. Cancellations received within fourteen (14) days of arrival are subject to a two (2) night’s cancellation fee. Reduction in the number of nights of your reservation within 14 days of arrival will be subject to an attrition fee equivalent to the number of lost nights, up to a maximum of two nights. A $10 plus tax, roundtrip per person porterage charge will be applied to your account. Cancellation and Refund Policy – Course Registration
Registration fees, less a $50 dollar administrative charge, are refundable if written cancellation is received prior to October 1, 2008. No refunds will be given for cancellations received after this date or for conference non-attendance. Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital reserves the right to cancel or postpone any program if necessary. In such case, full refund of registration fees will be given. We are not responsible for other costs incurred such as non-refundable airline tickets or hotel penalties.
