Important Change to Hospital Visitation Policy

Effective October 19, 2009, Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital will no longer allow non-patient visitors or family members under the age of 16 years to visit in the hospital. This policy will be in effect during the height of the flu season, usually lasting until spring, and will be re-evaluated at that time. Ronald McDonald House® is the cornerstone charity of Ronald McDonald House Charities®.

Ronald McDonald House at Stanford provides a "home-away-from-home" and support for the families of children with life-threatening illnesses receiving treatment at Lucile Packard Children's Hospital. As medical treatments evolve, more and more of the ill children stay at the House as outpatients while receiving treatment. Ronald McDonald House provides a haven these families can call home, permitting them to give their ill child complete attention and support.

Ronald McDonald House is a unique facility, offering an opportunity for families to share common concerns, while also giving them a break from the hospital routine. During this time of stress, the House provides a respite and crucial service.
