 Joan Casey serves as chaplain in the Johnson Center at Lucile Packard Children's Hospital. She provides spiritual care to patients and families in the Neonatal ICU, Intermediate ICU, Maternity (F-1 and F-2), Labor and Delivery, Special Care Nursery and the Well Baby Nursery. Joan completed her clinical pastoral education in San Francisco in 2001. Since then, she has been a staff chaplain at Seton Medical Center, Daly City, CA, serving patients and families both in the hospital and in Seton's West Bay Home Health and Community Services. Prior to becoming a hospital chaplain Joan taught high school students in Ireland and elementary school students in the US and served as principal of Catholic elementary schools in the dioceses of Sacramento and San Jose. She is a graduate of the National University of Ireland and of St. Mary's College, Moraga, CA.Lucile Packard Children's Hospital is located in Palo Alto, adjacent to Stanford University Hospital, approximately 20 miles north of San Jose, CA and 40 miles south of San Francisco.
