Facilities

Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital’s main facility is located next to the east wing of Stanford University Hospital on the Stanford University campus, approximately 20 miles north of San Jose and 40 miles south of San Francisco.

In order to meet the growing demands of the patient community, Packard Children's Hospital also operates three satellite facilities throughout Northern California.  These satellites house a wide range of inpatient services to provide more convenient access to many Bay Area communities.

Comprehensive Eating Disorders Program at El Camino Hospital
The Comprehensive Eating Disorders Program at El Camino Hospital is the only comprehensive program in Northern California that addresses the medical and psychiatric treatment needs of children and adolescents with these disorders. The Program operates fifteen beds and opened in 2002. You can take a virtual tour of the Inpatient Eating Disorders Unit to learn about the unit and services available to each patient.

Pediatric Unit at El Camino Hospital
The Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital Pediatric Unit at El Camino Hospital is a 16-bed unit staffed by Packard Children's Hospital physicians, nurses and other support personnel.  It is an extension of the main hospital in Palo Alto.

A child is admitted to this unit if their symptoms or illness require hospitalization, but do not require imminent surgery. Patient care is monitored and provided for by Packard Children's physicians who are on the unit 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

The unit provides a quiet environment for the care and recuperation of your child. All rooms are equipped to care for infants, young children and adolescents. Each patient is given a private room that has been painted and decorated by the staff to reflect a cheerful theme. Each room also has its own bathroom/shower facilities and includes sleep accomodations for the comfort of the accompanying parent/guardian.
