New Chief Information Officer Named At Packard Children’s

IBM Healthcare Services Executive Begins New Role

PALO ALTO, Calif. -- Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital at Stanford has announced that Ed Kopetsky has accepted the position of Chief Information Officer.

Christopher Dawes, president and chief executive officer at Packard Children’s, praised the selection. “Ed’s extraordinary experience in health care and information technology makes him an excellent fit as our new CIO,” said Dawes. “He’s a national leader in health care information technology, and he’ll play a major role ensuring we remain one of the safest and most innovative hospitals in the country.”  
 
Prior to his arrival at Packard Children’s, Kopetsky served as both partner and executive vice president at IBM-owned Healthlink, Inc where he was in charge of healthcare provider client services. Previously, he was senior vice president and chief information officer at health service delivery networks Centura Health and Sharp Healthcare, respectively. Kopetsky holds master’s degrees in both industrial engineering and health services administration.
