‘America’s Best Hospitals’ survey by U.S.News ranks Packard Children’s as one of nation’s best

Heart and Heart Surgery, Neonatal Care programs ranked in nation’s Top Five

PALO ALTO, Calif. -- In the new U.S.News & World Report publication of America's Best Children’s Hospitals 2009, Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital at Stanford has again been ranked one of the nation’s best.
 
In its annual America’s Best Children’s Hospitals issue online today at usnews.com/childrenshospitals, U.S.News places Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital #5 in the programs heart and heart surgery, and neonatal care. Additionally, six other programs made the U.S.News Top 20, including cancer, diabetes and endocrine disorders, digestive disorders, kidney disorders, respiratory disorders, and neurology and neurosurgery.

The specialty rankings of this year’s America’s Best Children’s Hospitals survey were based on a methodology that weighed a blend of reputation, outcome, and care-related measures such as volume, nursing care, advanced technology, credentialing, and other factors.
