Benchmark Data

Where possible, we provide benchmark data to show how Packard Children’s Hospital's quality data compares to similar hospitals' data. For each benchmark used, we define the data source and provide a link if it is publicly available. 
 
The sources of these benchmark data differ - there is no central or national quality data repository. Benchmark data are often the average of similar data reported by other hospitals. 
 
When looking at benchmark data, it is important to understand how patient populations differ between hospitals. The severity of illness, or how sick patients are, at each hospital will have some impact on overall patient outcomes.
