Important Change to Hospital Visitation Policy

Effective October 19, 2009, Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital will no longer allow non-patient visitors or family members under the age of 16 years to visit in the hospital. This policy will be in effect during the height of the flu season, usually lasting until spring, and will be re-evaluated at that time. What Sets the Children’s Heart Center Apart

Surgical care at the Children’s Heart Center is based on a fundamental principle: Your son or daughter will enjoy the best results when he or she is treated by medical professionals who specialize in the diseases affecting the hearts of infants, children, and adolescents.

Children aren’t simply miniature people who suffer the same diseases adults do, but on a smaller scale. Rather, they have their own specific afflictions and abnormalities. Diagnosing and treating children’s heart diseases requires specialized knowledge and a dedicated approach to care.

The Children’s Heart Center offers a group of renowned professionals who focus their considerable knowledge, expertise, and skills on your child. Because Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital (LPCH) is also a major research institution, care is always the most comprehensive and up-to-date that science has to offer. The Children’s Heart Center emphasizes the human side of treatment, providing a compassionate approach to caring for your son or daughter.
