Facility
Our spacious unit is flooded with natural light. Three private sleep rooms, a quiet room, and a kitchen for family members who wish to remain in the hospital with their child are available around the clock. Our CVICU is one of the largest and most technologically-advanced units dedicated to the care of critically ill pediatric cardiac patients in the western United States. Key features of our CVICU include:
- A seven bed space designed specifically for newborns and young infants
- Thirteen beds in semi-private or private rooms. All of these beds have storage areas for personal belongings in the room.
- A diagnostic information center. Our surgeons and medical team members can view all of your child’s angiographic, echocardiographic, and other radiographic imaging results without leaving the CVICU.
- An elevator connects the CVICU with the Ford Family Surgery Center two floors below. We can efficiently transport your child between our operating rooms and the CVICU.
Our unit opened in April 2009 and we care for more than 650 patients each year.
