The Program for Placental Disorders provides you with access to world-renowned experts in surgical and medical care for expectant mothers and newborns. Our comprehensive, collaborative approach means we all work together to meet the complex care needs of women with placenta previa, accreta, increta or percreta. Our goal is to assure the best possible treatment and outcomes for you and your baby.

Your care team may include specialists from:

  • Neonatology – Pediatricians who specialize in treating ill and premature newborns
  • Gynecologic Specialists – Gynecologists who have expertise with complex pelvic surgeries
  • Pediatric Radiology and Interventional Radiology – Physicians who use high-resolution images to help the team understand where the placenta is located and perform non-invasive vascular procedures
  • Vascular Surgery – Surgeons who specialize in operating on blood vessels
  • Obstetric Anesthesia – Anesthesiologists who specialize in providing anesthesia and pain relief to pregnant women
  • Blood Bank and Transfusion Services – They provide the necessary resources when patients require blood
