Research and Education

Center for Fetal and Maternal Health physicians are also faculty members at the Stanford University School of Medicine. As faculty, these individuals:

Work to improve patient outcomes through research. Through its association with Stanford University School of Medicine, the Center for Fetal and Maternal Health offers patients the benefit of the latest findings in maternal-fetal, neonatal and pediatric medicine. Our medical and surgical subspecialists are research leaders in their fields. Their innovative investigations continue to improve maternal and infant outcomes.

Train the next generation of physician-scientists. Individuals at various stages of their medical training (medical students, residents and fellows) learn from Center for Fetal and Maternal Health team members by:
  • Observing how complex management plans are made
  • Learning how to develop the best care strategies for fetal patients with complex problems and their expectant mothers
  • Recognizing how comprehensive, coordinated communication and care benefit the fetal patient, mother and family
  • Understanding the latest research and treatment breakthroughs
