The Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital Obstetrics team provides the best medical care available to pregnant women and their babies. We welcome you to a warm, supportive, family-centered environment that meets your pregnancy’s unique needs.
 
Our Obstetrics service is part of the Charles B. and Ann L. Johnson Center for Pregnancy and Newborn Services – a center dedicated to the health and well-being of child-bearing families, from conception through infancy.
 
 
 

Prenatal Care, Screening and Treatment for Low- and High-Risk Pregnancies

A new mother, father and babyPrenatal testing and counseling. We provide a full range of diagnostic, treatment, consultation and genetic counseling services to pregnant women in our five state-approved Perinatal Diagnostic Centers. Our centers in Palo Alto, Fremont, Salinas, Santa Cruz and Mountain View enable you to access our care while staying close to home.
 
Obstetricians and nurse practitioners for general or high-risk pregnancy care. Our Obstetrics Clinic physicians and nurse practitioners care for women with normal pregnancies, and for those who have a medical condition, history of complicated pregnancies, or are carrying multiples. We also provide consultations and co-manage patients as requested by obstetric providers in the local community.
 
Coordinated care for fetal health issues. Should your baby have complex health issues, our Center for Fetal and Maternal Health will coordinate a comprehensive, multidisciplinary care team of subspecialists and services specific to your and your baby’s needs.
 
 
 

Deliver Your Baby in a Hospital Dedicated Exclusively to Expectant Women and Children

Labor and delivery team ready for any situation. Packard Children’s Hospital’s highly specialized obstetric and pediatric services mean that our Labor and Delivery team is ready for a normal delivery or one with complications. A multidisciplinary team of Packard Children’s Hospital pediatric subspecialists and Stanford Hospital & Clinics adult subspecialists only need to travel down a hallway — not a freeway — to help you and your baby.
 
Stay with your baby at all times. Whether your new baby stays in the Maternity Unit with you or goes to one of our nurseries for more specialized care, the two of you are always in the same building.
 
 
 

Improving Outcomes through Research

Through its association with the Stanford University School of Medicine, Packard Children’s Hospital offers patients the benefit of the latest advances in obstetric care. Our physicians’ research activities include improving prenatal testing and imaging, preventing and managing pregnancy and childbirth complications, and improving training and education.
