Your First High-Risk Obstetrics Clinic Visit

Monday-Friday, 8 am-5 pm
Your first High-Risk Obstetrics Clinic visit will be with a registered nurse (RN). This can be done when you are eight to 10 weeks pregnant. This visit takes 1 ½-2 hours. Your partner is welcome to come to this appointment. You’ll be asked to provide information about your:
  • Medical history
  • Previous pregnancies
  • Family history
Hands of a baby and parentYou will also take blood and urine tests.
 
You will learn:
  • How to take care of yourself during your pregnancy
  • How often you will need to visit the clinic
  • What prenatal tests are available and when
You will receive educational handouts and materials that you can take home and review with your partner and family.
