Monday-Friday, 8 am-5 pmHigh-risk obstetrics preconception counseling is available through a referral from your general obstetrician or primary care provider. Your provider can call the High-Risk Obstetrics Clinic at (650) 498-4069 and select option 5 to schedule an appointment and arrange to send copies of your medical records to our clinic.
A high-risk pregnancy nurse will call you once we receive your records from your doctor and review them.
A maternal-fetal medicine physician will review your medical records before your preconception counseling appointment. At the appointment, the physician:
- Will discuss your medical and pregnancy history with you (and your partner, if desired)
- May perform a physical examination and/or ask you to take tests or provide additional information
- Will provide recommendations on future pregnancies. This recommendation will also be sent back to the provider that referred you for counseling.
