Important Change to Hospital Visitation Policy

Effective October 19, 2009, Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital will no longer allow non-patient visitors or family members under the age of 16 years to visit in the hospital. This policy will be in effect during the height of the flu season, usually lasting until spring, and will be re-evaluated at that time. Superior pregnancy and newborn services provided by leading obstetricians, neonatologists, perinatologists and gynecologists.
Described as "a center without walls," the Charles B. and Ann L. Johnson Center for Pregnancy and Newborn Services at Lucile Packard Children's Hospital at Stanford (LPCH) represents collaboration in the best sense. The center, funded by a gift from the Johnsons and officially formed on October 1, 1997, combines perinatal, neonatal and developmental medicine services.

The center brings together clinical services for the mother, fetus and newborn and formalizes academic partnerships among participating faculty and staff dedicated to the health and well-being of child-bearing families from conception through infancy.

Services provided by the center include genetic testing, diagnosis and counseling for high risk pregnancy and low risk pregnancy, obstetrical delivery services, neonatal intensive and intermediate care.  Comprehensive evaluation and diagnostic services for children at risk for, or with signs of, developmental delay is also available through the developmental and behavioral unit.

The center is supported by physician faculty members and over 230 support staff. In addition to services provided at the hospital, the center has extensive outreach programs for community hospitals and clinics. The team of childbirth experts include obstetricians, neonatologists, perinatologists, gynecologists, obstetric anesthesiologists, infertility specialists, lactation specialists, and midwives.
