Some children require breathing support even after they leave the hospital. We help families with children who require mechanical ventilation or have tracheostomies. Non-invasive ventilation (such as masks or nose tubes) or invasive (using a trach) are two options. We work with several home care services to ease the transition from the hospital to the family's home, and assist with ongoing management. Lucile Packard Children's Hospital is located in Palo Alto, adjacent to Stanford University Hospital, approximately 20 miles north of San Jose, CA and 40 miles south of San Francisco.
