Allergy, Asthma, and Clinical Immunology Research |
The Center for Asthma and Allergic Diseases has an extensive research program dedicated to developing new treatments for asthma, allergies and immunologic diseases. Most of these research projects are funded by grants from the U.S. National Institutes of Health, and have resulted in the publication of more than 100 articles and books. Our clinical research program focuses both on understanding the immunological and genetic mechanisms involved in the development of asthma and allergic disease and on novel treatments. Several of our current clinical studies include:
- Determining the mechanisms that protect against the developement of asthma and allergies.
- Development of therapies that provide long term cures for asthma and allergies.
- Identification of genes that cause asthma and allergies.
- An observational study of children and adults with severe or difficult to control asthma.
- A novel treatment for adults with cat allergies.
- A novel treatment for children and adults with Hereditary Angioedema
