Dermatology Overview
The Dermatology Clinic at Lucile Packard Children's Hospital offers comprehensive services for evaluation and management of infant, childhood and adolescent skin disorders such as:- Genetic skin diseases
- Atopic eczema
- Psoriasis
- Acne
- Skin infections
- Sun-sensitive conditions
- Pigmentation abnormalities
- Hair and nail abnormalities
- Epidermolysis bullosa, a group of inherited diseases characterized by excessive blistering of the skin after minor mechanical trauma
- Vascular anomalies, such as hemangiomas, port-wine stains, and other vascular malformations
- Other genetic skin diseases requiring coordinated efforts toward diagnosis and treatment
- Diagnostic procedures, including skin biopsy (removing a sample of skin and looking at it under a microscope)
- Inpatient dermatologic care for children with severe or extensive skin diseases (dermatoses)
- A full range of dermatologic surgical services
