Learn More About Pediatric Ear, Nose and Throat Diagnoses

  • Deviated Septum: An abnormal shape of the cartilage wall separating the two chambers of the nose. A deviated septum may cause breathing problems or nasal discharge.
  • Pediatric Sinusitis: A childhood infection of the sinuses near the nose, usually occurring after a cold or an allergic inflammation.
  • Otitis Media (Middle Ear Infection): An inflammation in the middle ear, usually occurring as a result of a cold, sore throat, or respiratory infection.
  • Pediatric Mastoiditis: Inflammation or infection of a child's mastoid bone, which is a portion of the temporal bone located behind the ear. Mastoiditis in children is often a complication of a middle ear infection (acute otitis media).
  • Treatment of Reccurring Ear Infections in Children: Small tubes (myringotomy tubes) that are surgically placed into your child's eardrum to help drain the fluid out of the middle ear in order to reduce the risk of ear infections.
  • Endoscopic Sinus Surgery: Pediatric endoscopic surgery opens the passages of the child's sinuses, allowing for proper drainage to the nose.
