Services Overview

The Eating Disorders Clinic provides comprehensive medical and psychiatric evaluation, treatment and follow-up for children and teenagers with eating disorders including:
The clinic is a part of Lucile Packard Children's Hospital's Comprehensive Eating Disorders Program.
 
Outpatient treatment options include:
  • Diagnostic evaluation (both medical and psychiatric)
  • Medical management to prevent or detect complications
  • Nutritional assessment and management
  • Growth and development evaluation
  • Assessment and management of osteopenia and osteoporosis
  • Psychiatric medication evaluation and monitoring
  • Individual therapy
    • Cognitive behavioral therapy
    • Interpersonal therapy
    • Psychodynamic therapy
    • Family-based therapy
  • Coordination with the patient’s school
  • Group and environment (milieu) treatment

Patients, families or referring physicians can call the Eating Disorders Intake Coordinator at (650) 498-4468 for a clinic appointment. A patient’s first visit is to our Palo Alto clinic. All visits after that are to our Mountain View clinic.
