- Pediatric gastroesophageal reflux
- Recurrent abdominal pain
- Diarrheal disorders
- Failure-to-thrive
- Constipation / encopresis
- Malabsorptive conditions - food cannot pass properly from the small intestine to the rest of the body (e.g., celiac disease)
- Inflammatory bowel disease
- Peptic ulcer disease
- Chronic active hepatitis
- Biliary tract disease
- Inherited metabolic and immunological defects involving the intestine and liver
- Diseases of the pancreas
- Provide training and follow-up support for use of home enteral or parenteral nutrition. A child on enteral nutrition receives a mixture of liquid food through a tube into the stomach or small bowel. A child on parenteral nutrition receives a mixture of liquid food through an intravenous (IV) needle.
- Evaluate candidates for pediatric liver transplantation
- Provide gastroenterology and hepatology outreach clinics throughout the western United States
