The Newborns and Parents Committee (NAP) is the family advisory council for Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital’s (LPCH) Johnson Center for Pregnancy and Newborn Services. NAP promotes family-centered care by providing education, advocacy and support to hospitalized mothers, parents of hospitalized newborns and to LPCH staff. NAP’s goals are to:
Improve the health care environment for families and staff
Enhance communication between families and staff
Support parents through mentoring and education
The NAP Committee is comprised of “graduate” parents who have experienced a hospitalized newborn working in partnership with LPCH staff to foster family-centered care in the Johnson Center.
Lucile Packard Children's Hospital is located in Palo Alto, adjacent to Stanford University Hospital, approximately 20 miles north of San Jose, CA and 40 miles south of San Francisco.
