Newborns and Parents (NAP) Committee

The Newborns and Parents Committee (NAP) is the family advisory council for Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital’s Johnson Center for Pregnancy and Newborn Services. NAP promotes family-centered care by providing education, advocacy and support to hospitalized mothers, parents of hospitalized newborns, and Packard Children's Hospital staff.  NAP’s goals are to:
  • Improve the health care environment for families and staff
  • Enhance communication between families and staff
  • Support parents through mentoring and education
The NAP Committee is comprised of “graduate” parents who have experienced a hospitalized newborn working in partnership with hospital staff to foster family-centered care in the Johnson Center.
