Information for NICU Parents

Parents are core members of our expert Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) care teams. As a NICU parent, you can be as involved in your baby’s care as you want to be. Every family chooses the level of involvement that’s right for them. We invite you to:

• Attend daily rounds in the NICU
• Participate in the design of your baby’s care plan
• Change diapers and take temperatures
• Speak with one of our parent mentors
• Participate in our Parent Hours and weekly educational and support meetings
• Provide feedback to help improve the NICU for future patients and families

Our commitment to family-centered care helps make your family’s experience better, and makes our NICU better for every family. You will also see this commitment as your baby moves to our other nurseries before going home.
