Services Overview
The Special Care Nursery at Salinas Valley Memorial Hospital is an eight-bed intermediate intensive care nursery under the medical direction of Lucile Packard Children's Hospital (LPCH).The Special Care Nursery provides ongoing care for infants with:
- Respiratory disease requiring hood or nasal cannula
- Special metabolic needs, including hypoglycemia
- Suspected or confirmed sepsis
- Hyperbilirubinemia requiring either phototherapy and/or exchange transfusion
