Pediatric Neurosurgery at Lucile Packard Children's Hospital is based on a fundamental principle - patients enjoy the best outcomes when they receive care from medical professionals who specialize in treating the neurosurgical disorders of infants and children. The pediatric neurosurgery team at Packard Children's Hospital is dedicated exclusively to serving children. The team works closely with other highly trained pediatric specialists such as anesthesiologists, neuro-radiologists, neuro-oncologists, plastic surgeons, and neurologists in a team approach to care that is focused on the special needs of our patients.
Because our department is closely aligned with the Stanford School of Medicine, care is always cutting edge. For example, Packard Children's Hospital is one of only a few places in Northern California that uses neuro-endoscopy as a treatment option to treat complex hydrocephalus.
