Comprehensive Programs to Prevent and Treat Childhood Obesity

The Center for Healthy Weight is a comprehensive program designed to prevent and treat overweight and obesity in children and adolescents. We provide children of any age or weight, their families and their communities with the resources, education, support and treatment to achieve and maintain a healthy weight.

Center for Healthy Weight health care providers and researchers come from both Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital and the Stanford University School of Medicine. Together, they address the different causes and effects of obesity and overweight in children and provide a wide range of services. The Center is organized around five core program areas:
  1. State-of-the-Art Patient Care
View our recommended steps to address concerns about your child’s weight.

Packard Pediatric Weight Control Program A six month weight control program for children and families. The class is taught in a group setting and focuses on lifestyle changes. Patients and families can self-refer into this program.

Pediatric Weight Clinic Outpatient clinic that provides medical and psychological evaluation of pediatric weight control issues and obesity. A referral from a health care provider is required to setup a new patient appointment.
