Center for Healthy Weight Provider Education

The Center for Healthy Weight's Pediatric Weight Control Program Institute ("the Institute") trains, certifies and supports community agencies and providers to deliver our family-based, group, behavioral weight control program to their own patients in their own communities.  The Institute is developing and implementing programs to:
  1. Train, certify and support local community agencies to give them the capacity and competencies to effectively deliver the Pediatric Weight Control Program, to serve a larger number of the many overweight children and families in need in our local communities.
  2. Deliver the intensive level of feedback, assessment and technical assistance required to give participating families the greatest opportunities to achieve optimal outcomes.
  3. Provide interactive, Internet-based tools and materials to facilitate wider dissemination and high-fidelity implementation by providers.
  4. Offer intensive (immersion) training programs for out-of-area providers.
  5. Provide ongoing standards-based certification of qualified providers who effectively deliver the Pediatric Weight Control Program protocols.
Startup funding for the Institute has been provided by The Health Trust, a public benefit corporation committed to improving the health and quality of life for people in need throughout Santa Clara County.

Center for Healthy Weight physicians give a number of obesity and weight management-related presentations and talks to various professional and community groups.  View a list of the team's presentations.
