| Center for Healthy Weight Provider Education |
The Center for Healthy Weight's Pediatric Weight Control Program Institute ("the Institute") trains, certifies and supports community agencies and providers to deliver our family-based, group, behavioral weight control program to their own patients in their own communities. The Institute is developing and implementing programs to:
-
Train, certify and support local community agencies to give them the capacity and competencies to effectively deliver the Pediatric Weight Control Program, to serve a larger number of the many overweight children and families in need in our local communities.
-
Deliver the intensive level of feedback, assessment and technical assistance required to give participating families the greatest opportunities to achieve optimal outcomes.
-
Provide interactive, Internet-based tools and materials to facilitate wider dissemination and high-fidelity implementation by providers.
-
Offer intensive (immersion) training programs for out-of-area providers.
-
Startup funding for the Institute has been provided by The Health Trust, a public benefit corporation committed to improving the health and quality of life for people in need throughout Santa Clara County.
Center for Healthy Weight physicians give a number of obesity and weight management-related presentations and talks to various professional and community groups. View a list of the team's presentations.
