Cochlear Implantation
A cochlear implant is an electronic device that can give a deaf person a useful auditory understanding of the environment and help him or her to understand speech. However, the device does not restore hearing.
Cochlear implants are approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and are covered by most private insurance policies, Medi-Cal, and California Children’s Services (CCS).
