Cardiopulmonary Exercise Testing Laboratory
Lucile Packard Children's Hospital exercise physiologists and physicians use our pediatric cardiopulmonary exercise lab to look for heart or lung problems in children. Our state-of-the-art exercise testing equipment allows us to take noninvasive measurements of a child's cardiovascular, metabolic or pulmonary activity.

Exercise-induced asthma evaluations

6-minute walk testing

Metabolic exercise stress testing
Tests may be performed while the patient is exercising on a cycle in a lie-down (supine) or seated position or on a treadmill.
We also perform:
Patients as young as 5 years old may be referred to the exercise laboratory. Referring physicians can call (650) 721-2121 to refer patients to the cardiopulmonary exercise testing laboratory.
