The Inpatient Pharmacy provides distribution, clinical pharmacy, investigation drug study and drug information services to inpatient units of Lucile Packard Children's Hospital on a 24-hour basis.
Pharmacists from the Inpatient Pharmacy:
- Responds to all code resuscitations
- Participate in patient care rounds with the Intensive Care Nursery, Pediatric Intensive Care Unit, Bone Marrow Transplantation medical/nursing teams, and participate in patient care rounds on appropriate patient care units on the 3rd floor.
The Inpatient Pharmacy department prepares written evaluations on new drugs as required by the Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee, and participates in drug-use evaluations, as required by the institution.
