Services Overview

The Movement Disorders Clinic at Lucile Packard Children's Hospital is a unique service provided by the Neurology department for the diagnosis and treatment of children with:
  • Ataxia - Coordination problems
  • Bradykinesia - Slow movement
  • Chorea - Irregular movements of the face and limbs that cannot be controlled (involuntary)
  • Dystonia - Muscle contractions that cannot be controlled (involuntary)
  • Myoclonus - Quick muscle jerks that cannot be controlled (involuntary)
  • Spasticity - Stiff muscles
  • Tics - Unusual movements or sounds over which the patient may have little or no control
  • Tremors - A rhythmic shaking that cannot be controlled (involuntary)
  • Cerebral Palsy
