Family-Centered Care Services for Liver and Intestinal Transplant Families

Parent Mentors

The Parent Mentor program is a Family-Centered Care service. Parent mentors for the liver transplant and intestinal transplant programs are parents of children who have previously undergone a liver transplant at Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital. They are trained to support parents of current patients.

Parent mentors are available to meet with pre- and posttransplant families:

• At the hospital bedside
• At the new patient evaluation
• In the clinic
• On the telephone

Our parent mentors include an English-speaking mother and a Spanish-speaking father.
