Parent Information and Referral Center (PIRC) |
There are times when every parent wonders... "Am I doing the right thing?"... "Is my child okay?" ... "Should I contact my doctor?" The Parent Information and Referral Center (PIRC) can help. Our pediatric nurses are ready to answer your questions about topics such as:
- Children's health
- Growth and development
- Safety
- Behavior
The pediatric nurses can also help you learn about special resources available for children in your own community. PIRC nurses also welcome questions from grandparents, day care providers, teachers and others in the community who care for children.
PIRC is available by calling (650) 498-KIDS (5437) or (800) 690-2282 on weekdays (Monday-Friday) from 10 am-6:30 pm. Translators are available. PIRC is a free community service provided by Lucile Packard Children's Hospital. You can also contact the nurses through e-mail at pirc@lpch.org.
Please visit our Parent Care Topics feature which answers questions about common health care issues and gives home care advice.
Lucile Packard Children's Hospital is located in Palo Alto, adjacent to Stanford University Hospital, approximately 20 miles north of San Jose, CA and 40 miles south of San Francisco.
