Center for Nursing Excellence Courses

The Center for Nursing Excllence offers a variety of courses and programs for pediatricians, housestaff, ER and family physicians, nurses, paramedics, respiratory therapists and other health care providers who are responsible for the well-being of infants and children. Life Support Training

2008 PALS Classes will be held in the Center for Nursing Excellence classrooms at 1400 Page Mill Road, Palo Alto.
2008 NRP Classes will be held in the Center for Nursing Excellence classrooms at 1400 Page Mill Road, Palo Alto. Classes are open to LPCH staff and local community health care providers.

Nursing Dept. Orientation classes start the 2nd and 4th Monday of every month. Starting dates for 2008 Orientation Classes are:

For Staff starting in the Nursing Department, classes are held Monday through Friday of the first week of orientation. For New Graduates, we are proud to offer the Versant RN Residency Program.

The New Nursing Department Staff general orientation schedule is as follows:

Monday 8:30 am to 5:00 pm	HR Orientation LPCH Auditorium, 725 Welch Road, Palo Alto
Tuesday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm	Nursing Department Orientation Location: 1400 Page Mill Road, Palo Alto Center for Nursing Excellence Classroom
Wednesday 8:30 am to 5:00 pm	RN Skills Training Location: 1400 Page Mill Road, Palo Alto Center for Nursing Excellence Classroom
Thursday Various hours	Computer Training Labs Location: 1400 Page Mill Road, Palo Alto Center for Nursing Excellence IT Training Room
Friday Various hours	Computer Training Labs (as needed, if space is available) Location: Stanford Barn, LPCH IT Training Room or Center for Nursing Excellence IT Training Room at 1400 Page Mill Road, Palo Alto (please call for location)

Detailed instructions about class locations will be given on Monday afternoon.

Information about unit-based orientation will be available from your new Nurse Manager once you've been hired.
