Research & Clinical Trials

Packard Children's Hospital physicians conduct clinical trials as part of their roles as Stanford University School of Medicine faculty. A clinical trial is a research study conducted to answer specific questions about drugs, diagnostics, vaccines, procedures and other treatments to determine their safety and effectiveness.

Clinical trials are an important step in applying research to improve and advance patient care (translational medicine).
