Lucile Packard Children's Hospital's Becoming Parents Perinatal Education Program is designed to help new and experienced parents prepare for the birth of a child.
 
Below, you will find a listing of Before the Birth and After the Birth classes, as well as general information such as how to signup for one or more classes.  If you need assistance along the way or if you have any questions, please call us at (650) 723-4600.

Before the Birth

Childbirth Class in the Foothills

Our next Specialty Childbirth Class will be held at the new Rosewood Sand Hill Resort in Menlo Park on Saturday, August 8!

LPCH offers a number of comprehensive programs and individual classes to help new parents, families and caregivers prepare for the arrival of a new baby.
 
Programs
  • Birth Center Orientations   
    A full patient orientation to the Johnson Center together with the Expectant Parents Information Night held monthly. Free, with no registration necessary!

  • First Birth & Baby Program  
    The First Birth and Baby Program is designed for first time parents.  The series is held at LPCH and on occasion at Bay Area resort locations. 

  • Multiples Childbirth Program
    The First Birth and Baby Program designed specially for those expecting twins or more. Classes can be taken individually or as a full program.

  • Birth & Baby Again Program
    The Birth and Baby Again series is designed for experienced parents who are seeking childbirth information for the delivery of their second or subsequent children.

  • Baby Safe Program
    Our popular Infant & Child CPR and Infant Safety classes are now offered as a combination program at a discounted price.

Join us for an informative update and discussion on what it means to be a grandparent today.

After the Birth classes help parents and families adjust to their new arrivals and provide a safe, soothing environment for their babies.
 
Programs
  • New Family Program
    The New Family Program is designed to help families throughout the first nine months after birth, offering something for everyone.  Enrollment includes participation in Mother-Baby Mornings, Working Mothers' Groups, Fathers' Nights and Couples Coffees.
