Caring for Infants and Young Children
Every child presents unique challenges, so Your Child’s Health University offers classes designed for parents of young children including support groups for new parents. Classes on infant CPR and safety are available as well as classes teaching infant massage techniques which can be used for a multitude of reasons ranging from stimulation to easing vaccination sites. We even offer classes for expectant and new grandparents!Back to top
Preteens, Teens, and their Parents
Facilitated by adolescent medicine experts, Your Child’s Health University’s adolescent classes and seminars focus on opening and improving the lines of communication between parents and their preteen and teenage children. Recommended for parents of middle and high-school aged children, these classes are aimed at helping them understand the adolescent mindset and will offer suggestions on the information that today’s teenagers need and how parents can create a partnership of trust and respect.Back to top
Parent Education Corner
Hosted by Lucile Packard Children's Hospital's physicians and field experts, Your Child's Health University offers lectures and parenting seminars on a wide variety of health and safety topics for parents with children of all ages. Whether you are looking for health information on a specific health topic or diagnosis, such as managing your child's ADHD, or on general information to promote healthy lifestyles or safe communities, such as stress management tips and tools for preteens and teens, Your Child's Health University is the place to find it.Back to top
Pediatric Weight Control
The Packard Pediatric Weight Control Program is a family-based, behavioral and educational program designed to promote healthy eating and exercise habits for overweight children and their families. As part of Lucile Packard Children's Hospital's Center for Healthy Weight, the program offers two age-specific programs for children ages 8-12 and teens ages 13-15. More than 80% of participating children achieve long-term weight loss and parents lose weight too.Back to top
