The Becoming Parents Program offers package programs and individual classes for expectant parents, families and caregivers who are preparing for the arrival of a new baby. We offer classes for those expecting one baby or multiples, for those expecting their first child or subsequent child/ren as well as classes on cesarean birth, newborn care, and breastfeeding.
Your Child's Health University offers classes designed for those who care for infants and young children including support groups for new parents. Classes on infant CPR and safety are available as well as classes on infant massage. We even have classes for expectant and new grandparents!
Your Child's Health University partners with other community resources to offer programs on car, bike and pedestrian safety for families. The Safely Home Car Seat Fitting Station provides free car seat checks to our patients and to our community.
Designed by adolescent medicine professionals, Your Child’s Health University’s adolescent classes and seminars include the "Heart to Heart" program focusing on open communication between parents and their preteen and teenage children. We also offer specific seminars just for parents of middle and high-school aged children.
Hosted by Lucile Packard Children's Hospital's physicians and field experts, Your Child's Health University offers lectures and parenting seminars on a wide variety of health and safety topics for parents with children of all ages. The Packard Pediatric Weight Control Program is a family-based, behavioral and educational program designed to promote healthy eating and exercise habits for overweight children and their families. As part of Lucile Packard Children's Hospital's Center for Healthy Weight, the program offers two age-specific programs for children ages 8-12 and teens ages 13-15. More than 80% of participating children achieve long-term weight loss and parents lose weight too.
